Community Services for Children -Allentown, PA
CSC prepares young children and their families to succeed in learning and in life through innovative, comprehensive, leading-edge services. They provide low-income families subsidies for childcare, support STAR programs, operate Head Start classrooms, and help teachers to get the most up-to-date training and classroom resources that they need. They also have emergency assistance for families who need diapers, formula, utility payment, etc. They help more than 50,000 children and families annually.

Mary’s Shelter
Mary’s Shelter provides residential and non-residential services for pregnant women and women with newborns who are in need of a supportive environment because of a lack of suitable housing or favorable family relationships. While caring for women in need, Mary’s Shelter prepares mothers with newborns for independent living and a vision of hope for the future.  They provide temporary housing, individual and group counseling, prenatal care, formal education, future housing, budget counseling, on-site classes to help develop parenting and interpersonal relationship skills.

Lehigh Valley Business Group – Valley H.O.P.E community closet
Over the last few years, the Lehigh Valley Business Group has engaged in many private, public activities in helping others.  Valley H.O.P.E closet is just one of them!  Their committee chairs, members and volunteers believe in helping others, giving back and making a difference. They are about helping individuals, businesses and our community. They are all non-paid volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved, they would love to hear from you. “The more we have help, the more we can do to help others.”

Sixth Street ShelterAllentown, PA
Their mission is to provide the opportunity and direction for all people to become self-sufficient, productive members of the community.  The Sixth Street Shelter’s guiding principals are to help families set and reach their goals through intensive and effective case management, in-house programming, and referrals to appropriate services.

 

Cops N’ Kids Cops N’ Kids has delivered over 753,000 books to kids throughout the Lehigh Valley!  The Cops ‘n’ Kids Children’s Literacy Program is a national initiative founded by Julia Burney Witherspoon, a police officer from Racine, Wisconsin. In 2003, the program was formally adopted by Quota International of Bethlehem, establishing the Quota International of Bethlehem Charitable Trust Cops ‘n’ Kids Children’s Literacy Program.  Cops ‘n’ Kids ensures that every child has access,  in his or her home to books and the knowledge, inspiration and hope that such access can provide.  They encourage positive relationships between children and police. And inspire creative learning for children and families by providing meaningful literacy-based experiences.
